Lagadalsleden etapp L1 Mossle - Lagan - En del av Smålandsleden

The Lagadalsleden is a stage of the Smålandsleden trail and stretches between Mossle, on the outskirts of Värnamo town, and the community of Lagan. Lagadalsleden follows the old railway embankment between Värnamo and Ljungby, which was previously used by both freight and passenger trains. Prepare for a unique hiking stage where you will have time for reflection and meditation. The embankment follows the western shore of Lake Vidöstern and offers fine lake views, open pastures, dense spruce forests and mysterious bogs.

Mossle

At the Mossle stage you have a beautiful view of Lake Vidöstern, and here you can choose between hiking the Värnamo trail west towards Kärda, or you can hike the access trail via Osudden and Apladalen's idyllic homestead park towards the center of Värnamo.

Åminne

A few kilometers south of Mossle is the community of Åminne. In the early 1900s, sea ore from the bottom of Vidöstern was processed in Åminne mill, which is located in the middle of the community. Today it is a mill museum with a well-preserved mill environment that you are welcome to visit. Rune's trading post is also located on the mill site, with old enameled advertising signs and shelves full of goods from the 1920s onwards. Åminne also has a nice swimming area where you can take a well-deserved dip in the Vidöstern.

Hånger

A little way into the stage is the community of Hånger, where you can visit Hånger's old cemetery, Hånger's hometown park and the well-stocked 24/7 store. Feel free to stop and replenish your energy supply and drink.

The community of Lagan

At the Lagan stage, you can visit the Cliff Burton Museum and the Lagaland Moose Park, as well as a grocery store and restaurants.

Where to stay

There are hotels and hostels in Lagan. In Hånger and Åminne there are uniquely designed shelters where you can spend the night. If you follow the access road into Värnamo town, you have several hotels, Bed & Breakfasts, hostels and camping to choose from.

Signposting

Between the municipal boundary of Värnamo-Ljungby and the community of Lagan there are currently no signs, but just follow the embankment and you will stay on the trail.
