Start the walk by crossing the cemetery in Ventlinge and passing Anna Rydstedt's grave south of the church tower. Her husband Gustaf Dannstedt also lies here and in the same row is mother Elin's grave.

Go down towards the country road and cross it. By the wall of the farm where Anna grew up, there is a poem post and a sculpture by Ylva Magnusson: Alvardamp (a small horse from Öland) The environment is original, today's farms and roads can be found on maps from the 17th century and Ventlinge church is from the 13th century.

Follow Sjögatan down towards the sea. From Theo Janson's sculpture "Anna in the world" you can see into Anna's garden. There in the corner is the writer's cabin and the large moving block that she called "the world's vantage point".

Along the road down towards Kalmarsund are the fields that belonged to the farm. Here Anna and her sister Rut worked thinning sugar beets and harvesting hay.

Poetry posts and sculptures can be found here and there along the road.

At Kalmarsund, the path turns north to Maren, a place by the beach where Anna and Gustaf had a small plastic boat.
