Kroppkaksäventyret - södra Öland

An adventurous and very beautiful tour through forest, alvar, meadows and sea, starting at Öland's national dish.

This tour starts and ends at Arontorp's Kroppkakor. This means that you can start and finish with a really hearty meal. And you may need to with nearly sixty kilometers of MTB ahead or behind you.

The tour goes via Arontorp (don't miss the Arontorp rose if you're here in May, a very rare and beautiful yellow flower usually only seen in the Alps.

The Arontorp rose grows in a small area of the Arontorp nature reserve. Initially you cycle across open fields and on roads, but soon the tour offers woodland and greenery. Here you will find windmills, pastures and dense vegetation. Eventually we arrive in Gårdby where we recommend a coffee stop. Lovely café on the eastern side of Öland.

We turn back again over Alvaret and its very peculiar nature before we eventually land in Vickleby. Here you have the opportunity to visit the Capellagården with art, furniture making ceramics and herb farm. There is also Bo Pensionat which serves lunch, dinner and coffee. Vickleby bygata itself is also a sight to see.

We make our way down to the sound and after Lilla Frö one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline with endless swimming opportunities awaits us. Haga-park is Öland's surfing mecca and here you'll find both ice cream and colorful sails. The tour continues north along the coast, passing Beijershamn and eventually Eriksöre before turning inland again.
