Aptasvare lies between Kiruna and Svappavaara, south of the E10. A paved road runs from the E10 to the Swedish Institute of Space Physics (IRF). A gravel roads leads from the IRF to the small car park where the trail begins. The regional bus operator "Länstrafiken Norrbotten" has a bus stop at the E10/IRF Kiruna.

Aptasvare is located between Kiruna and Svappavaara. To get to the landscaped trail to the top, turn off from the E10 against the Institute of Space Physics (IRF), just east of the exit to Kiruna airport. Drive through a small roundabout and continue on a small forest road. At the end of it, the path starts up to Aptasvaara. Several E10 forest roads lead to the reserve, including Tansarijärvi.
