Opis
As a final outpost facing the Åland Sea, you’ll find Östra Lagnö, part of Ljusterö. Smooth, wave-washed rocks and sweeping views attract both sunbathers and recreational fishers. Inland, the meadows and grazed pastures support a rich variety of plant life. The easy-to-roam forests are also abundant with berries and mushrooms.
In the Östra Lagnö section of the reserve, there are trails and toilets adapted for wheelchair users.
On the island of Själbottna, land uplift has gradually transformed former sea bays into beautiful coastal meadows. The area offers many sheltered natural harbours, and a campsite can be found at Vadörsängen in the southeast.

Fakty
To protect the Själbottna-Eastern Lagnö nature reserve, there are rules you must follow.
In the reserve it is forbidden to
- destroy or damage any solid natural object or surface formation by drilling, carving, blasting or painting
- during the period February 1 - August 15, enter or enter the land and water areas (bird protection areas) shown on the map
- break branches, fell or otherwise damage living or dead trees and shrubs and otherwise damage vegetation by digging up plants such as rice, herbs, grasses, mosses or lichens
- disturbing wildlife (e.g. by climbing trees, capturing or killing mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians)
- bringing dogs that are not on a leash
- setting up a caravan
- camping for more than two consecutive days in the same place
- anchoring a boat on the same beach for more than two consecutive days
- make an open fire
- drive a motorized vehicle other than on designated roads
- park other than in specially designated places.

Wskazówki dojazdu
By boat: Regular traffic with Waxholmsbolaget from Stockholm to Själbottna during the summer months.
Public transport: SL bus from Danderyd to the Västra Lagnö stop, 2.5 km from the reserve. Other trips to the area can be made with Västra Lagnö Sjötaxi. See current information on public transport at: sl.se
