Vikingaleden etapp 6, Harg till Gimo

Start out south of the beautiful medieval Harg church. A walk through varied landscape, mostly on gravel roads. Before heading towards Gimo, make sure to take a stroll through beautiful Hargs Bruk (The Harg Works).

The stretch from Harg to Gimo follows along narrow gravel roads through the lovely farmland. Old stone walls and fields can be seen along the way, remnants from the 18th and 19th century. For parts of the stretch you will walk along the old railway line that has been used for transporting iron ore to Hargshamn for shipment. Even today goods are transported to the harbour along this railway line. The scenery varies and along the route you might well see wild animals and birds.

It is relatively easy walking and the trail is also suitable for biking.

Please remember to replenish food and drinks at Harg or Hargshamn as there will be no fresh water etc. to be had before Gimo.
