Description

A restored gravel pit where in late summer you can pick up to eleven different varieties of blackberries.

The combination of open sand, mild climate and many hours of sun and groundwater close to the surface creates habitats for many animals and plants, e.g. the highly endangered plant dwarf rush, has one of its largest habitats here and the smooth snake, sand lizard and European mole cricket are three rare species that thrive in the nature reserve.

The rules for the nature reserve are shown in the link below, but, for example, dogs must be kept on a lead and you are not allowed to drive a vehicle/ride a horse, camp in a tent/caravan or light a fire.

Take the E22 through Jämjö and take the exit to Konungshamn. The housing ends after about 500 metres. Turn right here onto a little gravel road. There is a small car park at the side of the road.

You are welcome to visit Häljarum, but please note that it is not permitted to:

damage land

destroy or damage solid natural objects or surface formation unduly interfere with wildlife damage growing or dead trees and bushes or vegetation capture and collect invertebrates in such a way that their biotopes or reproductive environments are damaged bringing unconnected dogs, other than hunting Performing motor vehicles Ride
tent or set up caravan or camper Make fire disturbing use of radio, CD players or comparable equipment
use the area of exercises that seem disturbing to nature or public outdoor life
affixing painting, placard poster, sign, inscription or similar.

Without permission from the County Administrative Board, you will not either

conduct scientific research involving sampling or installation of equipment
use the area of competition, exercise, camp operations or other equivalent activities.
