A restored gravel pit where in late summer you can pick up to eleven different varieties of blackberries.
The combination of open sand, mild climate and many hours of sun and groundwater close to the surface creates habitats for many animals and plants, e.g. the highly endangered plant dwarf rush, has one of its largest habitats here and the smooth snake, sand lizard and European mole cricket are three rare species that thrive in the nature reserve.
The rules for the nature reserve are shown in the link below, but, for example, dogs must be kept on a lead and you are not allowed to drive a vehicle/ride a horse, camp in a tent/caravan or light a fire.
