Description

Tjärö’s open landscape has been shaped by humans, who have cleared and farmed, kept grazing animals and felled the forest for different needs in their fight for survival. Tjärö has a special place in the hearts of many lovers of the archipelago.

The buildings on the island are charming old houses rented out to visitors. In the summer there are always well-mannered rare breed animals grazing on the island.

The complete rules for the nature reserve and more information are available at the link below, but, for example, you are not allowed to pitch a tent, light a fire or use disposable barbecues other than in places provided for the purpose.

Disturbing the wildlife

Damage growing or dead trees and shrubs or vegetation otherwise, or remove dead wood bringing loose dog performing a bicycle, other vehicle or ride, other than on the road
tents, other than in the specified tent place for a day
make fire or use disposable grills other than in the set fireplace
within a distance of 150 meters from the main island Tjärös beach line performing motorboat at a higher speed than 5 knots empty boat toilets in the sea capture and collect invertebrates in such a way that their biotopes or reproductive environments are damaged or destroyed.

Without permission from the County Administrative Board, you will not either

conduct scientific research involving sampling or installation of equipment, placing traps for the collection of invertebrate animals and picking mosses, lichens or wood-living fungi, other than what is reasonably needed for artificial determination

use the area of competition, exercise or other activity that may affect disturbing nature or the moving outdoor life
set up painting, placard, poster, sign or similar.
