On the island of Dragsö in Karlskrona lies the notorious “Troll Forest”. It gained this name a long time ago due to its yew trees which make the forest dark and mysterious. A tree that does not grow naturally on the island, the yews are thought to have once been planted at the neighbouring naval base. It was in the early 2000s that the owners of Dragsö Camping came up with the idea of placing trolls along a path in the forest. First there were only a few of them but now you might bump into about 50 trolls lurking under the branches. These include a Fishing Troll, Grandma Troll and Naked Troll. Most of the trolls are made of concrete and were bought at auction or from garden specialists. The walk along the troll path is about a kilometre long and ghost walks with witches and vampires are held at Halloween. There is also a wrought iron love tree where lovers can seal their love by attaching padlocks. Source: Dragsö Camping
