Nature reserve
Utklippan is the southernmost group of islands and guest harbour in Sweden and in the summer can also be reached by regular boat from Karlskrona.
“Utklipporna” comprise the almost bare islands of Norraskär, Södraskär and Degerhuvudet and several smaller skerries. Between Norraskär and Södraskär there is a sheltered fishing harbour which is now mainly used as a guest harbour for leisure boats.
The Utklippan lighthouse is on Södraskär, with the former lighthouse keepers’ cottages. The lighthouse, the lighthouse community and the environment on Södraskär and Norraskär are listed buildings. Today the buildings are used by the Utklippan bird station and the Swedish Cruising Association, and one of the houses is a youth hostel.
Due to its untouched nature, the marine environment surrounding the islands is of great value for marine biology. Grey seals are often seen basking on Degerhuvudet and the surrounding rocks and sometimes harbour seals too.
The rules for the nature reserve are shown in the link below, but, for example, dogs, cats or other predators may not be brought unless they are on a lead, you may not light fires or use barbecues, spirit stoves or equivalent other than in a barbecue area indicated, pitch a tent other than in a designated campsite for a maximum of 48 hours, or moor alongside a jetty, quay or elsewhere for more than 72 consecutive hours, with the exception of emergencies, e.g. in bad weather.

Utklippan is the outermost group of islands in the Karlskrona archipelago. It lies approximately 8 km SSW of Utlängan. On Norraskär there is a well-sheltered harbour accessible from west and east. Boat owners can reach the islands or there is a regular service running from Karlskrona in the summer.
