Description

The World Heritage Round is a cycling route that takes you through Karlskrona World Heritage Site and along ARK56. This trail goes in both urban and archipelago environments, and along the way you can discover everything from historic buildings and museums, to magical viewpoints over the Karlskrona Archipelago.

If you start the cycle tour at Stortorget, you will see, among other things, the Town Hall and Frederik's Church which were built in the 18th century and also the Trinity Church - the German Church which is from the 19th century.

If you take the cycle path further west towards Fisktorget, then remember to lead the cycle as Rådhusgatan is one-way. Afterwards, you can stop at the Baroque garden in Grevagården, which is located in front of the Blekinge Museum and this historic place is part of the Karlskrona World Heritage Site and is, among other things, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Furthermore, it is possible to turn off and follow the trail towards the Admiralty Church, this church was built in 1685 and is one of Sweden's largest wooden churches.

The cycle tour then takes you past Kungsbron with Bastion Aurora, which in the past was the most common sea route to Karlskrona. At Sparregården, where Östra Prinsgatan meets Kungsbron, there is limited access, here you should lead the bike a bit before you can cycle further out towards Stumholmen.

Further out on Stumholmen, you can then visit the Marine Museum, which is the most visited tourist destination in Karlskrona. Previously, the island was a closed marine area for 300 years, which then opened up to the public in 1993.
