Description

Kärdaleden is a stage of Smålandsleden and stretches between Kävsjö and Kärda. Along Kärdaleden you will experience a beautiful stretch through Kärda village, which has plenty of ancient remains, lush deciduous forests, several lakes and in the northern part several kilometers through Store Mosse National Park.

Store Mosse National Park

Store Mosse National Park attracts visitors from all over the world. The national park has high natural values and is one of the country's largest, virtually untouched, marshlands south of Lapland, giving you plenty of fantastic views for miles. If you're lucky, you'll see animals like moose, curlews, golden eagles, several kinds of bats and dragonflies, as well as plants like marsh pine, cranberry and cranberry. If you look closely, you can also spot three different types of carnivorous plants. Take the opportunity to visit the nature center that Kärdaleden passes. There you can take part in the exhibition about the bog, examine plants and buy souvenirs.

Kärda

The community of Kärda is the southern destination of the Kärdaleden trail, where you can visit Kärda church and Kärda homestead park, and there are barbecue areas in the community that you are welcome to use. From Kärda you can walk the Värnamo Trail east towards Värnamo.

Overnight stay

Along the Kärda Trail you can stay overnight in Lövö Hostel in Store Mosse National Park. If you want to camp along the trail, the right of public access applies except in the national park. In the national park there are a few places intended for camping. On the adjacent Värnamo trail, you can spend the night 1.5 km east of Kärda in a shelter at Kvarndammen.

Signposting

Between Store Mosses National Park entrance Andersberg and the southern end of Maramövägen, signage is very limited, but just follow Maramövägen and you will stay on the trail. Information about this is available on site.
