Sea air, heathland and coastal meadows stretching for miles invite visitors to walk and spend time on the Torhamn headland. The well-preserved, open farming landscape is rich in ancient monuments and has a long history. The area is also an internationally renowned spot for bird watchers with a large number of nesting and resting birds.

Complete rules for the nature reserve can be found via the link below, but, for example, no dogs or cats or other animals are allowed in the area unless they are on a lead, you are not allowed to pitch a tent or park a caravan without the permission of the landowner or manager and may only beach a boat temporarily. You are not permitted to drive motorised vehicles other than on the road to the car park by the shooting range or land at or visit Båtaskär and Hammaröra within the period 1 April to 15 July and may not anchor or stay within 50 metres of these islands within the same period.

Leave the E22 at Jämjö and follow signs towards Torhamn. Follow the road straight south from Torhamn church. The nearest bus stop is “Torhamn”, about 1 kilometre north of the nature reserve.

You are welcome to visit the Cape of Torhamn, but bear in mind that it is not allowed to

destroy or damage solid natural objects or surface formation damage growing trees and shrubs or vegetation by digging up plants Disturbing the wildlife Release dog, cat or other animals in the area Tent or set up a caravan
without the permission of the landowner or administrator other than temporary boating on the beach
perform motor vehicles other than on the road until the parking lot at the shooting station
during the period from 1 April to 15 July, land at or enter Båtaskär and Hammaröra, and during the same time anchor or permanent residence until 50 metres from these islands.
