The Wiredaholm trail is a pleasant circular trail that partly follows an old embankment and partly runs through the Wiredaholm golf course. The loop is ideal for a short walk, but also has a connection to Stages A1 and A2 on Anebyleden. The trail is easy to walk, follows gravel roads and is marked with orange color.
**History
The western part of the loop follows a former embankment from Jönköping-Gripenbergs Railway (JGJ).
Jönköping-Gripenbergs Järnväg (JGJ), also called Gripenbergsbanan and popularly known as "Trådrullatåget", began to be built in 1893. In 1900 you could travel all the way from Jönköping to Vireda. Hence the local name Viredabanan. The idea was that the railway would then continue to Gripenberg, but there was a lack of funds to finance the later section of the line. Firstly, the track was narrow gauge (600 mm gauge), so it was not possible to connect the Gripen Line with SJ's standard gauge railway. Secondly, cars and trucks took over a large part of the transportation of people and goods in the early 1900s. Smaller railways simply became unprofitable. The last train left Vireda on August 31, 1935. However, the railroad contributed to the development of communities like Vireda and others around the turn of the century 1900.
