Now we have entered and translated all protected areas for fishing in the Blekinge Archipelago in the mobile application ARK56!
An important focus area for the work within the Blekinge Archipelago Biosphere Reserve is sustainable fishing. In order to protect and preserve the fish stock, the Blekinge County Administrative Board has drawn up various regulations that especially everyone who is interested in fishing in the Blekinge Archipelago needs to know. For example, there are rules about which times of the year you can fish, minimum size of the fish and which fishing gear is allowed to be used.
In order to easily get an overview of all the rules, especially while you are at sea, we have entered all areas into the mobile application ARK56. You can find all the areas if you search for "marine protected area" or filter "fishing". Here on this link you can see all marine protected areas.
Sustainable fishing in the Blekinge Archipelago is about preserving and restoring viable fish stocks, creating conditions for economic viability in small-scale commercial fishing and sport fishing businesses, and managing and passing on knowledge and skills in traditional coastal fishing.
