Virtual viewing of the World Heritage of Karlskrona in 3D

Images

Join us on a journey into the secrets of world heritage. It was in Karlskrona, in 1680, that Karl XI decided to establish Sweden's new naval base. Karlskrona's town plan with its unique shipyard and fortification environments gave the city World Heritage status in 1998. However, not all buildings are always accessible to the public.

Karlskrona Municipality has created several 360-degree films that give you the opportunity to follow a World Heritage guide on some of the World Heritage islands, inside the buildings, to look around and learn more.

Now you can experience the films directly on location in our app

So far, the films have only been available via Karlskrona municipality's website. Including them in the ARK56 app means that you can watch the films both from home, but also directly on site, outside, along ARK56. For example, when you have paddled to Koholmen and stepped ashore - then it will be extra fun to also be able to see glimpses of the building from the inside.

You can see a virtual tour of the following buildings:

Ljungskär

Mjölnareholmen

Koholmen

Good night

If you watch the movie via a computer, use the keys W, A, S and D to navigate the movie. If you watch the film on the mobile phone, you touch the phone or swipe the image to see yourself in the film.

The films are made to spread knowledge and curiosity about the world heritage city and its history. To see more films about the World Heritage Orlogstaden Karlskrona, visit Karlskrona Municipality's website: Glimt av World Heritage.
