Discover open rocky ground and a mosaic of ancient forest with monuments from the Bronze and Iron Ages.

Ancient monuments from the Bronze Age dominate, such as grave fields, cairns and a standing stone, and north-west of Färskesjön there is a sunken lane 400 metres long.

This is home to clustered bracket fungus and the plants red Alpine catchfly, heather and white swallow-wort, and lesser spotted woodpeckers and nightjars nest in the area.

The rules for the nature reserve are shown in the link below, but, for example, you are not allowed to camp, light a fire other than in a designated spot, bring a dog or cycle/ride a horse other than on the road in the northern part of the nature reserve.

Leave the E22 at Jämjö and follow signs towards Torhamn. Take a side road on the left after about 4.5 kilometres.

You are welcome to visit Lake Färskes, but be aware that it is not allowed to:

Damage the land,

destroy or natural objects or surface formation,
damage torplings, stone walls or cultivation thresholds, unduly disturb the wildlife, damage growing or dead trees and shrubs or vegetation, Do not carry any linked dog other than hunting. carrying out vehicles other than on the roads provided;
ride or bike in places other than on the ground road in the northern part of the area,
tent or set up caravan or camper to set up fire on other than for the purpose set fireplaces;
disturbing use of radio, CD players or otherwise produce disturbing noise, use the area of exercises that act disturbingly on nature or public outdoor life;
