Nature reserve
Here you will find a well-preserved, small-scale historic landscape of wooded meadows, hayfields, natural grazing land, small arable fields and a small section of oak woodland. The fields are managed by haymaking, grazing and pollarding.
Much of the area is covered by wooded meadows with more than 350 pollarded linden, ash and elm trees and some lone oaks standing in pastureland. Hazel trees are common. Some smaller areas are mown for hay. Ancient fields surrounded by stone walls are dotted through the area.
Winter feed for animals used to be cut from the wooded meadows. Grass and plants were cut for hay and the leaves of the trees were harvested by cutting (pollarding) the branches. Wooded meadows produce a mix of sun and shade. This means that many plant species with different needs are able to thrive within a small area.

Leave the E22 at Jämjö and follow signs towards Torhamn. Follow the road for 7.5 kilometres. The nature reserve is on the right-hand side with parking further down the side track. The nearest bus stop is Möcklerydsvägen Torhamn just next to the nature reserve.
